What is the life expectancy of artificial grass in a playground setting?
The grass will last anywhere from 8 to 20 years, depending on how much use it gets.

Yes, but barely. It will only fade about 2 shades of pantone™ colors every 10 years. UV additives are mixed into our yarn resins so color fade will be minimal.
Is it difficult to repair or replace areas of the artificial grass?
No, it's easy to patch, this is something you can do yourself. In case you do need to repair the playground grass be sure to save any any leftover scraps of grass after installation.

Is synthetic grass warmer than my natural lawn?
Yes, of course our synthetic grass doesn't have the natural cooling capacity of natural grass. There's always a trade-off for the benefits such as no mowing, no watering, no weeding, no chemical applications, easier dog clean up, no mud, etc. The only real trade-off is that the surface of synthetic grass will be warmer than natural grass. But, it's not so hot that you or your pets can't be on the surface on hot days with a few precautions. We recommend having at least one portion of your lawn area shaded for instant relief. If the temperature gets hot, it's always nice to have a little relief area until it cools down again. Also, you can spray the synthetic grass with water right before you walk or play on your synthetic grass on a really hot day. Additionally, you can always wear shoes. Another thing that can be done to lower heat on synthetic grass is adding our Organafill Natural Infill material to the grass. These granules give a natural cooling effect to the grass, lowering surface temperature. Many people find that the extra heat doesn't bother them as long as they keep moving. But, even if these precautions are not exercised, hot weather has not kept people or pets off of synthetic grass. We have thousands of installations nationwide; including the Arizona desert. Complaints about surface temperature are extremely rare, but we understand people have different sensitivity levels. We just want our customers to be aware that there is a slight sacrifice to overcome the increased surface temperature, but it shouldn't stop you from enjoying your lawn for years to come…even on hot days!
