There has been a lot of negative press recently regarding synthetic turf and crumb rubber. Crumb rubber infill is traditionally used for just athletic fields. ProGreen wants to stress that we do not use crumb rubber infill for playgrounds. Once again, ProGreen does NOT use crumb rubber as infill for our artificial grass for playgrounds.

Instead, we offer a variety of different infill products for you to choose from. ProGreen wants to ensure that you will get the right artificial turf for the needs of your facility. It is important to note that all of these options meet different ASTM fall-height standards. ProGreen also provides different foam pads that go underneath the artificial grass. These shock absorbing pads provide extra cushioning in case of a fall. ProGreen’s padding system also has many other benefits including:

Superior Drainage:

The pad’s drainage is so effective that kids can be outside playing only 15 minutes after rainfall. The same cannot be said for natural grass.

Safety:

ProGreen’s shock pads are highly elastic to provide a more comfortable surface for falls. Additionally, they are completely free of rubber, lead and any other heavy materials. They are also non-microbial and resistant to bacterial and fungal growth.

Durability:

They retain their shock absorption ratings for many, many years. These shock absorbing pads can take any type of wear and tear you can throw at them. Also, a lot of sports teams use this padding for their football fields.

Easy Installation:

The foam pads can be used instead of a crushed stone base (depending on your local soil conditions). By utilizing a pad this will speed up the installation process. Additionally, this can save you money on the overall project cost.

Of course, many of these benefits pertain to outdoor uses, but we don’t want to overlook how artificial grass can be used indoors as well. You can still install the foam pads underneath the grass even indoors, which is a great option because kids fall inside, too. The anti-microbial and anti-fungal properties are great for indoor uses as well, since we know that kids tend to spill things.
